If you already ride in the winter or would like to, this class is for you. With good planning and the right gear, it's possible to ride even in the winter. During any time of the year, commuting by bike and using your bike to run errands are healthy, inexpensive, and contribute to a better environment. Thanks to Park New Haven, you are cordially invited to the bike parking area of New Haven’s Union Station for one hour of conversation and then a group bike ride. The group will discuss choosing the right bike, what kind of gear you’ll need to stay warm and haul your belongings, what to do if it rains, and riding at night. Other topics will include rules of the road, rights and responsibilities of cyclists, basic traffic principles, avoiding road hazards, navigating challenging roads, and how to safely change lanes.
