About the Event

This class will teach you the dynamics of group cycling which includes communication while moving, personal and group etiquette, bike handling skills, positioning, and problem solving. This class will be a combination of riding on the Farmington Heritage Canal Trail and on nearby streets.

Requirements for All Participants

  • Must be able to ride a bicycle for at least one mile
  • Bring a bike in good working condition
  • Bring a properly fitting bicycle helmet.  Free new helmets will be given to all who need one.
  • Sign the NHCAT waiver
  • Bring a bottle of water, light snacks or fruit, and sunblock
  • Bring a face mask in case you are asked to wear one while indoors

*Requirements for Minors 14-17

Minors from 14 to 17 are welcome but must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian for the duration of each class, including any group ride.  Parents/guardians must sign a waiver for the minor(s).

Details:

This class is for cyclists who would like to learn and practice the benefits of riding in groups.  Riding in a group is fun and enjoyable but there are a few basics you need to know so every rider practices behavior that is safe for them and the group. Participants will learn the dynamics of group cycling which includes communication while moving, personal and group etiquette, bike handling skills, positioning, and problem solving. This class will be a combination of riding on the Farmington Heritage Canal Trail and on nearby streets. The group will meet and return to Fussy Coffee which is at an access to the Trail at 290 Winchester Ave, New Haven.
