Doug Hausladen

Doug Hausladen currently serves as Executive Director for the New Haven Parking Authority, which manages New Haven Union Station. He formerly served as the Director of Transportation for the City of New Haven.
He was appointed to both positions by former Mayor Toni Harp. Doug has a degree in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry from Yale University and comes to the public sector with professional experiences in local government, real estate, social entrepreneurship, local food systems, and public health. He co-organized the New Haven Safe Streets Coalition and believes in the collective power to make real change at the grass-roots level. Doug was twice elected to the New Haven Board of Alders and in his present role, he is regional leader for Complete Streets, Smart Parking, Mobile Payment, Active Transportation, Tactical Urbanism, and Sustainability. In the past decade Doug has built some of Connecticut's first protected bike lanes, contraflow bike lanes, and more. He was recently selected by CT Magazine as a 2022 “40 under 40.” Doug is certified as League Cycling Instructor (LCI) by the League of American Bicyclists and teaches NCAT bike education classes.
