Mehul Dalal

Mehul is an internal medicine doctor with a professional background in public health and healthcare policy. He recently served as the City of New Haven's Health and Social Services Chief getting a unique window into residents' needs and the City's operations. Mehul also worked at the CT's Department of Public Health overseeing various prevention efforts including CDC grants to promote physical activity through policy and environmental design interventions sparking his interest in all things active transportation. Mehul has also practiced primary care at Bellevue Hospital in New York City and at Fair Haven Community Health Care in New Haven where his patients often faced structural barriers to adopting healthy and active lifestyles.
He lives in New Haven with his family, enjoys running and hiking, and is a huge fan of parks, trails, and pedestrian friendly streets.
