If would like to commute and/or run your errands by bike, then this class is for you. And thanks to Park New Haven you are cordially invited to the bike parking area of New Haven’s lovingly restored Union Station for two hours of conversation and then a group bike ride. Commuting and running your errands by bike is healthy, inexpensive and contributes to a better environment. But there are some things that will make your commute easier and your work day better. The group will discuss choosing the right bike, what to wear so you don’t arrive at work a sweaty mess, riding in cold weather, what kind of gear you’ll need to haul a change of clothes, what to do if it rains, and riding at night. Other topics will include rules of the road, rights and responsibilities of cyclists, basic traffic principles, avoiding road hazards, navigating challenging roads, and how to safely change lanes.
