Matt has been a New Haven resident since 1988. He started riding BMX at Edgewood Skatepark in 1999. He learned how to work on bicycles at the Devil's Gear Bike Shop (2003-2006) and Tony's Bikes and Sports (2006-2009). As a bicycle repair technician, Matt provided outstanding quality workmanship and customer service, with a focus on road cycling and freestyle BMX. He has been organizing and participating in bicycle cultural events and daily commuter transportation.

Matt graduated from Gateway Community College with an Associates of Applied Science degree in Automotive Technology, and graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Liberal Studies with a Concentration in Business Management, Marketing and Psychology. He's a current ASE Certified Automobile Master Technician, along with various other automotive training certifications, and a former Adjunct Instructor at Gateway Community College Automotive Technology Department.

He believes that BMX and bicycles have had a strong positive impact on his life. He hopes to empower others to let BMX and bicycles have a strong positive impact on their lives. He's looking to have more BMX jams and contests to showcase local talent. He's interested in creating a new indoor (all weather) BMX skatepark facility, and hopes to create a team of BMX riders that want to learn and progress.
