Angus Lamont
League Cycling Instructor
Angus is a certified League Cycling Instructor who works with NCAT on youth and adult bicycle safety and skills courses. He particularly loves teaching Learn-to-Ride classes.
Several years ago, Angus and his family decided not to replace their second car when it finally gave out. Intrigued by the data that showed that 50% of household trips are 3 miles or less and 80% are 10 miles or less, Angus challenged himself to use bicycle transportation for his regular household errands and appointments all year long. It has been a healthful and enjoyable experience.
Angus rides regularly with the Outspokin group, as well as the Bradley Street Bicycle Coop, where he is a committed volunteer mechanic. He also engages in the cycling civic life of New Haven through his participation in NCAT, Rock to Rock, East Rock Century, Bike Box at CPEN, Arts and Ideas rides, Ice Cream rides, and the East Rock Coffee Outside rides on Friday mornings. He loves riding with friends on the roads and in the parks throughout the New Haven area.
